Registering for MTTC Tests
The Michigan Tests for Teacher Certification (MTTC) website is the place where individuals who need to take MTTC exams can create their user account (www.mttc.nesinc.com). Individuals must use this account to register for an exam.
The MTTC account will require individuals to provide the following:
- Email address
- Mailing address
- Phone number
- A password
- An answer to a selected security question
Once you have an account created, you can pay for the exam through the online system. After you have paid, you can schedule your exam. On the registration page of your account there is a schedule button. Selecting this button will allow you to choose when and where you'd like to take your test.
Locating Test Times and Locations
Information about paper- and computer-based test times and locations is available through your MTTC account.
The MTTC website also has a system for comparing testing options for each MTTC test. After selecting the MTTC test you need to take, you will be given a list of available dates for taking the paper-based version of the test. The computer test dates are provided through your MTTC account. Test fees and registration deadlines are also provided.
There are a limited number of times that paper-based tests are offered, and space is offered to individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. It is important to register well in advance if possible. This will ensure that you are able to take the test at the time and place you prefer. Individuals who register late may need to pay late registration fees.
Information about test locations and available space for upcoming tests can also be accessed through the Pearson Vue website (www.pearsonvue.com).
After You Register
Pearson VUE sends everyone who registers for an MTTC test an email. This email provides confirmation of an individual's test registration. It contains pertinent information, such as the date, time and location of the individual's scheduled test. The test site's phone number is also included in the email.
Changing Your Registration
If you need to cancel your MTTC exam or change the date of your exam, you can do so through your online account. It is necessary to cancel your registration with sufficient advance notice to receive a refund.
Policies for Computer Tests
As long as you initiate a cancellation at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled test, you will be able to withdraw and receive a full refund.
Test-takers can also opt to change their test date and test location without any additional costs. They must do so at least 24 hours before their test was scheduled.
Policies for Paper-Based Tests
Withdrawal deadlines are established for paper-based tests. Individuals have until 5 pm EST on the late registration deadline to cancel their appointment. They will not receive a full refund. A refund of $20 is provided.
Individuals can also make changes to their paper-based test date and testing area up to the late registration deadline. There is a $20 fee per test for making changes to a paper-based test registration.
