In Minnesota, all professional educators who are licensed by the state are certified via the Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examinations (MTLEs). These tests cover a range of subjects, from basic skills and pedagogy tests for first-time licensees, to content exams for those seeking additional licensure in a specific grade, subject or career area such as school administration or counseling.

If you are a Minnesota educator, chances are you will have to sit for several MTLEs as you develop your career. Unfortunately, preparing for these tests can be a real drain on your energy, time and wallet. MTLE Scholarship Awards

Study.com will award three different MTLE Scholarships to three winning entrants. One entrant will be selected to win first prize worth $500. We also have one $300 award for the second prize winner and one $200 award for the third prize winner. All three MTLE Scholarship winners will be contacted at the email address or phone number provided on their application forms. Please note that only the three scholarship winners will be notified.

Eligibility Requirements for the MTLE Scholarship

To be eligible for the Study.com MTLE Scholarship, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time the application is submitted.
  • Applicants must be planning on taking the MTLE by April 1st, 2019.
  • Applicants must not be a previous Study.com MTLE Scholarship winner.

How to Apply

Entering is easy! Complete the MTLE Scholarship online application form and submit it for your chance to win. Please, submit only one entry form and make sure to use a valid name, email address and phone number. This application will include a section of short responses, so be prepared to consider these questions:

  1. What are your goals for taking the MTLE?
  2. What are your professional goals for the future?
  3. What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome while preparing for the MTLE?
  4. How would winning a Study.com MTLE Scholarship help you?

MTLE Scholarship Deadline

The deadline for the Study.com MTLE Scholarship is April 1, 2019. Any applications submitted after this date will not be considered.

Tips for a Successful Application

Here's your chance to tell us about your experiences with the MTLE and how this exam will relate to your journey as a professional educator. In particular, we would like to see responses that demonstrate:

  • Effort and articulation: Leave a great impression by composing your answers with care. Get started early so you'll have plenty of time to consider and respond well to each question.
  • A good understanding of the question: Don't ramble around the point; make sure every part of your answer is relevant to the prompt.
  • Unique thoughts and goals: Show us your most honest self, even if your story is a little unconventional. We expect all answers to be completely original, so never copy another's words or work.

All applicants will be asked to provide their name and a photograph, which will be used only in the event the applicant wins one of the three prizes.
