TExES PPR Test Registration Information

Instructor: Bill Sands
Registering for the PPR test is a multi-step process that must be completed online. Read on for a step-by-step walk-through on how to reserve your spot for this assessment.

How to Register for the TExES PPR Test

Students looking to register the TExES PPR will need to do so online. Though the test itself is administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), registration is carried out by Educational Testing Services (ETS). ETS is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you'll be able to register whenever it is most convenient for you.

The registration process is fairly straightforward, but it does include a high number of steps. The following list contains a detailed walkthrough to help you navigate the process.

Know Your Dates

Before you even get started, you first need to get online and find out when and where you plan to take the test. ETS lists a comprehensive list of all test dates and locations. Pick the time and place that works best for you, and then you'll be ready to get started.

ETS also publishes a Registration Bulletin that contains other pertinent information, such as:

  • Program policies
  • Contact information
  • Test fees and payment policies
  • Identification (ID) requirements
  • Procedures at the testing facility
  • Information on score reporting

Register with ETS

Now that you know when and where you'll be testing, it's time to get started. The first step is to create an ETS account. If you've already taken an exam with ETS and have a pre-existing account, you can use this information. When you create an account, you'll need to provide your TEA ID number, along with your full legal name, and date of birth.

Register for the Test

Once you've logged in with your account, look to the top left and find the link labeled 'register for a test.' Once you access this page, you'll be prompted to read a list of online registration requirements and a series of compliance statements. Agree with the statements by checking the boxes and clicking 'next.'

Schedule a Test

Using the drop-down list, choose the test you wish to take (in this case, the PPR), then choose a location, testing center, and date. Once you have all this information, click 'add test' to add the PPR to your queue.

You can also use this time to register for any other exams that you plan on taking.

Before officially registering, take one last moment to double- and triple-check your selections to ensure that you have chosen the right test. Click the 'edit' button if you need to make any changes, and click 'next' when you are sure that you are ready to proceed.

After reviewing your selections, you'll need to enter your payment information. Enter your credit card information, billing address, and all other information.

Final Verification

At this point, you will be given one last chance to verify your information. Click the 'next' button to formally submit your registration: NOTE: Only click the 'next' button once. If you click it again, you could risk causing problems with your registration.

The next step will grant you your admission ticket. This document will be needed at the testing site, so it is very important that you print out a copy and keep it with you.

Congratulations! You've successfully registered for the PPR. Good luck!
