What Are the AP Exam Rules?

Examinees must acknowledge that they will respect the test stipulations by signing their answer sheet on exam day. Rules that are in place for the AP Exams include:

  • No electronic communication devices in the testing room
  • No Internet-enabled devices or cameras are allowed
  • Students cannot bring any kind of food or drink into the testing room
  • Examinees cannot distribute any information about their AP Exam through social media
  • Students must wait at least two days before discussing free-response items after a test
  • Multiple-choice items can never be discussed

Violation of any of these policies could result in a score cancellation or being permanently barred from future AP tests.

What to Bring on Test Day

You should have the following items or info readily available on test day:

  • Identification
  • Your school code or home-school code
  • No. 2 pencils and pens
  • The AP Student Pack
  • An SSD Student Accommodation Letter if applicable
