[1] Dr. Weston A. Price, a dentist from Cleveland; he traveled around the world to document the health of people living in traditional societies. [2] He reported very low rates of cavities and tooth decay among people eating traditional diets, but found that the dental health of traditional groups rapidly declined when refined flour and sugar were introduced to their diets. [3] He wrote a book about his experiences, and when he returned to the United States, he tested many of his nutritional theories on his own patients.
