Applying Social Study Skills - Chapter Summary

Use the lessons in this chapter to review different methods to discover, study and present historical data. In these lesson videos and texts our expert instructors will help reinforce your understanding of methods, the nature of historical change, and some of the biases to be aware of when reviewing historical data. After these lessons you should have a firm understanding of:

  • The cause-and-effect nature of historical change
  • Uses of evidence and interpretation in historical methodology
  • Biases, assumptions and stereotypes in written works
  • Visual aids used to communicate historical data
  • Tables and schedules used to organize and interpret data

After these lesson videos and texts, read the lesson transcripts to fortify your understanding of the material and then take the lesson quizzes to determine if you are confident in your knowledge.
