### CEOE Advanced Math: Sets Chapter Objectives

Oklahoma requires some educators to get subject area certification, and for math teachers the certification process may require passing the CEOE Advanced Mathematics Test. To prove your mastery over mathematics, this assessment has been divided into five subareas. Over the course of four hours, test-takers will have to answer 81 questions, and almost all questions are in the selected-response style.

Of the five subareas, questions concerning sets in mathematics will most likely be found in the subarea of discrete mathematics, statistics, and probability. This area only makes up 14% of the entire test. To do well on this section of the test, use our chapter to help increase your knowledge about the properties and mathematical principles involved in solving these types of equations.

Today we're going to explore mathematical sets, which are surprisingly simple! Sets are just collections of any objects or concepts, also known as elements, that can be related to each other through union or intersection.

### 2. Cardinality & Types of Subsets (Infinite, Finite, Equal, Empty)
