CEOE Physical Science: Matter Chapter Objectives

Successful completion of the CEOE Physical Science exam is required for teacher candidates seeking an endorsement to teach physical science. The test is criterion-referenced and competency based, and is given entirely on computer. There are three subareas that comprise the CEOE Physical Science exam. The lessons in our chapter on matter address Subarea III: Structure of Matter and Changes in Matter. This subarea accounts for 29% of the overall exam.

When you take the CEOE Physical Science test, you will be expected to answer 80 multiple-choice questions. There is one constructed-response assignment, for which you must compose a written essay or article that addresses a given topic. Your essay should be no shorter than 300 words, and no longer than 600 words.
