Clostridium perfringens is a common soil bacteria that causes a mild case of food poisoning. In this lesson, we will look at one particularly severe outbreak and the factors leading to the higher-than-normal number of deaths that occurred.

15. Brucellosis: Infectious Disease Caused by the Brucella Bacteria
In this lesson we will learn about the bacterial pathogen Brucella. Brucella is a human and livestock pathogen that was also the first biological agent weaponized by the United States.
16. Dysentery and the Bacteria Shigella: Symptoms & Causes
You can catch all sorts of diseases from fecal-oral contamination. Shigella is a human fecal bacteria that can cause a potentially fatal dysentery by consuming as few as 10 cells, an amount far too small to ever notice.
