Ch 36: ILTS Biology: Earth's Spheres & Internal Structure
About This Chapter
ILTS Biology: Earth's Spheres & Internal Structure - Chapter Summary
Let us help you review information on the structure of the Earth and the forces that have shaped our planet as part of your study plan for the ILTS Biology exam. Our videos and quizzes will help you answer exam questions on the following topics:
- External and internal forces that shape the Earth
- The Earth's spheres and their interaction
- The layers of the Earth and how scientists study them
We offer a variety to tools to help you study for the ILTS Biology exam. Our lessons include a clickable timeline that allows you to jump back and review particular points in the video without having to re-watch the whole lesson. There's an ask-an-expert message board that lets you get help from our instructors if you need clarification on a concept.
ILTS Biology: Earth's Spheres & Internal Structure Chapter Objectives
In Illinois, anyone who wants certification to teach biology must pass the ILTS Biology exam. It consists of 125 multiple-choice questions, divided into six subsections. The material this chapter covers is represented in Subarea IV, Earth Systems and the Universe. The quizzes that accompany each of our lessons also consist of multiple-choice questions, so answering them offers an experience like you'll encounter on exam day. You can also assess your learning through the quizzes and see where you need extra study.

1. The Dynamic Earth: Internal & External Forces that Shape Earth's Surface
There are many geologic processes that shape the surface of the Earth. Not only do they build and destroy a variety of landscapes, but they also give us clues to the interior of the Earth and the forces that exist there.

2. The Four Spheres of Earth: Geosphere, Hydrosphere, Biosphere, and Atmosphere
Earth is made up of four distinct yet connect spheres. In this video lesson, you will learn about where each sphere is found on Earth, as well as some features commonly found in each.

3. Earth's Internal Layers: Crust, Mantle & Core
Earth is made up of several different layers, each with unique properties. In this video lesson, you will identify each layer of Earth and how it relates to Earth as a whole.
