Objectives of the MTEL Biology: History and Issues in Science Chapter

The MTEL Biology exam is a test that examines your knowledge and comprehension of the full range of topics that make up the discipline of biology. Your score is used to determine your eligibility for teacher licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The topics under History and Issues in Science are part of the Nature of Science Objective. There will be between 12 and 14 multiple-choice questions on this objective. The self-assessment quizzes we give you let you test your comprehension of the material and get a feel for the types of questions that will appear on the exam.

The MTEL Biology exam includes 100 multiple-choice questions and two open-response questions. For the multiple-choice questions, you will read a question or passage and select the correct response from several possibilities presented.
