### MTEL Math: Applied Trigonometry- Chapter Objectives

The Massachusetts Tests for Educator Liscensure (MTEL) Math test is designed to test the preparedness of future educators to teach math in first through 12th grade classrooms. This chapter, Applied Trigonometry, will be most applicable to the Trigonometry, Calculus, and Discrete Mathematics subarea, and will be especially useful for questions dealing with trigonometry. The Trigonometry, Calculus, and Discrete Mathematics subarea accounts for 16% of the exam's score weight and is one of the six testing areas found on the MTEL Mathematics test. The test as a whole consists of 100 multiple-choice questions and 2 open-response assignments and takes 4 hours to complete.
