Objectives of the MTTC History: American Reconstruction Chapter

The MTTC History exam is a required part of the history teacher licensing process in Michigan. It is designed to assess your readiness to teach history topics to students. Questions on American Reconstruction are found in the U.S. History subarea of the exam, which includes about 33% of the total exam questions. The self-assessment quizzes that come with our lessons are an easy way to prepare for the format and content of the questions you'll see on the exam.

The MTTC History exam is composed entirely of multiple-choice questions. You might have to read a passage or look at a map or graphic and then answer questions based on those items. You'll also be asked to choose a correct response to a question from a series of answers. Our lessons culminate with a chapter exam that can be used as a practice test before you take the MTTC History exam.
