Objectives of the MTTC History: Hinduism Chapter

The MTTC History Exam evaluates your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of American and world history, including the major religious traditions of the world, of which Hinduism is one. Your score on this exam will determine your eligibility for teacher licensure in history in the state of Michigan. The section of the exam that evaluates knowledge of world religions is the World History section, which contains approximately 33% of the test questions. You can get a sense of what these test questions are going to be like by completing the self-assessment quizzes that follow each video lesson.

The MTTC History Exam is administered both as a paper-and-pencil test and as a computer-based-test: the choice is yours. Either way, it includes 100 multiple-choice questions in which you will read a passage or a question and be given several possible response choices. You will need to select the one correct response from the group you are given.

This lesson will define and explore the four stages of Hindu life. In doing so, it will highlight the stages of the Student, the Householder, the Hermit, and the Sannyasin.
