# Ch 41: NES Middle Grades Math: Angles

This short chapter briefly defines and describes acute, obtuse, and right angles as a precursor to more detailed treatments of angles in following chapters. Use the self-assessments to get great practice for the NES Middle Grades Mathematics exam.

## NES Middle Grades Math: Angles - Chapter Summary

Though relatively brief, this chapter provides a solid foundation of angle types and definitions before we explore deeper geometric concepts. The lessons include real-world examples and visual aids to set the concepts solidly in your memory before you take the National Evaluation Series (NES) Middle Grades Mathematics test. These lessons provide information about:

• Acute angles
• Obtuse angles
• Right angles

Like all of our lessons, these are built around a short video instruction provided by our expert instructors accompanied by printable materials and self-assessments. It is easy to navigate the course content using the lesson sidebar and content tags. Focus your studies on your individual trouble areas by returning to content you struggle with on the chapter test.

### NES Middle Grades Math: Angles Objectives

Angles are addressed in the Measurement and Geometry content domain of the NES Middle Grades Mathematics exam. This domain accounts for 25% of the test content and includes objective 0008, Euclidean geometry, where most of the angle-related questions will fall. The test has 150 multiple-choice questions overall and a 4-hour, 15-minute time limit to complete them. Scores are calculated along a 100-300 scale, with 220 being the minimum passing score. They will let you know whether you passed before you leave the testing center, but your detailed score report will take a couple of weeks to be published.

You can check out the NES website for more on the test breakdown and to register for the test. Be sure to review your specific state's licensure and test registration procedures to make sure you are taking the proper test and registering in the appropriate place.
