NES Middle Grades Math: The Pythagorean Theorem Chapter Objectives

Though you are certain to use the Pythagorean Theorem in questions across several objectives and content domains, objective 0008 in the Measurement and Geometry domain specifically requires you to demonstrate an understanding of the theorem and its converse. This domain includes 25% of the test content. The exam has 150 multiple-choice questions overall, and you are given 4 hours and 15 minutes to complete it.

The test is scored on a scale of 100-300: you must achieve the national benchmark score of 220 to pass. Check with the test proctors to receive your scaled score immediately following the exam, then return to the NES website for your detailed score report when it is published. A schedule of when score reports are published is available on the website, which is also where you will go to register and download a complete breakdown of the test.
