NES: Tools Used by Geographers Objectives

The National Evaluation Series (NES): Middle Grades Social Science exam is used by some states to determine if aspiring middle school social science teachers know what they need to teach future students. To achieve its objective, this computer-based certification exam asks 150 multiple-choice questions in a three-hour testing session. Around 19% of the exam is about geography and culture. This chapter will help you better understand the way geographers study geography by explaining some of the tools they use.
