NMTA Essential Academic Skills Math: Complex & Imaginary Numbers Objectives

New Mexico utilizes NMTA tests as part of their verification process to make sure educators possess the right skills and breadth of knowledge in accordance with state educational standards. Math teachers must pass the NMTA Mathematics test, which is a multiple-choice, computer-based test. There are five key domains addressed in this test, and questions related to complex and imaginary numbers fall within the first domain, 'Mathematical Processes and Number Sense.' Questions within this first domain establish whether someone possesses the rudimentary foundation of mathematical knowledge.
