NMTA Essential Academic Skills Math: Computing Integers Chapter Objectives

In New Mexico, the NMTA Essential Academic Skills Subset III: Mathematics has been replaced by a NES test, which is designed to help prospective teachers fulfill the state requirements for teacher licensure. This NMTA Essential Academic Skills Math: Computing Integers chapter covers topics found in the first competency, which tests your understanding of number properties and operations. Make the studying process simple with resources found in this chapter, including fun videos, full lesson transcripts, self-assessment quizzes and a chapter exam. Instructors are also available to answer questions about the lessons.

The assessment is composed of 45 multiple-choice questions that align with test competencies designed to assess your essential math skills. The questions often take the form of short paragraphs, sentences or questions and may feature graphs, diagrams or other illustrations for conceptualization and problem solving. You'll find four answers with each question, one of which you could choose as the correct response.
