NMTA Essential Academic Skills Writing: Verb Tenses & Types Chapter Objectives

The NMTA Essential Academic Skills Writing test is one of four skills tests required for prospective certified teachers in New Mexico. Topics from the Verb Tenses & Types chapter are highlighted in the competency area dealing with standard written English grammar, mechanics and usage.

In the 75-minute exam, you'll need to select the correct answer regarding the standard use of verb forms. Questions on verbs may come from the 36 multiple-choice options, which is 75% of the exam's score or through the one required written passage that accounts for 25% of the scoring total.
