Objectives of the NMTA Middle Grades Math: Introduction to Decimals Chapter

The Middle Grades Math exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and is part of the licensing process for middle school math teachers in New Mexico. The test is computer based, and you will have four hours and 15 minutes to answer all of the questions. The exam tests your knowledge of number sense and operations; algebra and functions; measurement and geometry; and statistics, probability, and discrete mathematics. This chapter links to the number sense and operations domain, which comprises 17% of the exam.
