### NMTA Middle Grades Math: Solving Math Word Problems - Chapter Objectives

Your proficiency at solving math word problems will be evaluated when you take the computer-based NMTA Middle Grades Math examination. This test consists of the Number Sense and Operations, Algebra and Functions, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics, Probability and Discrete Mathematics sections. They each add up to 17%, 33%, 25% and 25% of the overall examination score, respectively. As you pursue a middle school mathematics certification, you'll answer 150 multiple-choice questions. You will be given four hours and 15 minutes to complete the examination.
