Objectives of the NMTA Reading: Emergent Literacy Chapter
The NMTA Reading assessment is a content knowledge test for current teachers or individuals applying for initial educator licensure who need a reading endorsement. The assessment is computer based and requires a score of 240 to pass. You will be required to answer 100 selected-response questions on the test.
The topics covered in this emergent literacy chapter are located in subarea II of the assessment, which examines the development of phonological and other linguistic processes related to reading. It constitutes approximately 20% of the total test.
