Number Sense - Chapter Summary and Learning Objectives

Working with numbers includes using and understanding fractions, percentages, and decimals. In this chapter, you will learn how to recognize the values of numbers in each of these forms and how to discern whether they are larger or smaller than others in the same and different formats. You will also be shown how to utilize and interpret information from charts and graphs and become familiar with the concept of unit conversions. When you have completed this chapter, you should know how to:

  • Complete mathematical problems containing fractions
  • Work with decimals
  • Convert decimals to fractions or percents and back again
  • Understand and calculate unit conversions
  • Interpret different kinds of charts and graphs
