NYSTCE English Language Arts: Writing Style Objectives
The writing subareas of your test constitute about 27% of the entire exam. The entire exam is approximately 90 multiple-choice questions and a constructed-response essay for test completion. You will be evaluated on your knowledge of the steps involved in writing strong essays quickly, how word and language choice can set mood and tone, understanding the effects of using first, second and third person voices, and more.
