NYSTCE Social Studies: Belief Systems - Chapter Objectives

The New York State Teacher Certification Examinations (NYSTCE) for Social Studies is a computer-based test that measures an examinee's knowledge-level and ability to teach in this subject area according to state standards and guidelines. This exam has 90 multiple-choice questions and one constructed-response item. There are six subareas covered on this test. The first subarea, History, contains questions regarding cultural belief systems. This History section has approximately 35% of the total exam questions.
