Our video lessons have been designed with busy users in mind. We know you may have limited free time, so we keep our lessons short and thorough to fit in between all of your other obligations. Watch short engaging videos or skim over the lesson transcripts during quick cram sessions. Finally, check to see just how much you are learning by answering the questions found in our lesson quizzes and chapter exam.

OAE Mathematics: Analytical Geometry Chapter Objectives

For the OAE Mathematics test, individuals must prove their level of competency within five separate domain categories of mathematics. In the category of geometry, the questions have been designed to test how well math teachers recognize Euclidean geometry theories within several dimensions. These questions will also evaluate your knowledge of transformational geometry, coordinate systems, and the procedures involved in acquiring measurements. The entire test includes 150 questions, all of which have multiple-choice answers; measurement and geometry questions make up about 19% of the test. Let our study materials help you sharpen your geometry skills.

The Cartesian Coordinate System: Plotting Points & Graphing Lines

1. The Cartesian Coordinate System: Plotting Points & Graphing Lines

Watch this video lesson to see how useful the Cartesian coordinate system is. Learn how points are labeled and how you can plot points and graph lines using the system.

How to Use The Midpoint Formula

2. How to Use The Midpoint Formula

The formula for the midpoint of a line segment will tell you how to find the middle of any line segment on the x, y plane. Learn about this formula and see how it is used to find the midpoint of a line segment.

How to Use The Distance Formula

3. How to Use The Distance Formula

You can't always rely on your smartphone to tell you how far you need to travel to get from point A to point B. The distance formula will tell you the distance between any two points on a graph. In this lesson, you'll learn where it comes from and how to use it!

Calculating the Slope of a Line: Point-Slope Form, Slope-Intercept Form & More

4. Calculating the Slope of a Line: Point-Slope Form, Slope-Intercept Form & More

Being able to calculate the slope of a line is a very useful skill to have. Why? Watch this video lesson to find out and learn how to find the slope when working with various equations and various lines.

Transformations in Math: Definition & Graph

5. Transformations in Math: Definition & Graph

In geometry, transformation refers to the movement of objects in the coordinate plane. This lesson will define and give examples of each of the four common transformations and end with a quiz to make sure you are moving in the right direction.

What is Translation in Math? - Definition, Examples, & Terms

6. What is Translation in Math? - Definition, Examples, & Terms

In mathematics, translation refers to moving an object without changing it in any other way. This lesson will describe how to translate an object and give some examples. A quiz will follow to test your knowledge.
