In Ohio, passing the OAE Middle Grades ELA exam is a requirement for certification to teach language arts at that level. The exam contains five sections, called domains, and questions on the topics discussed in this chapter are in the domain on English language conventions, composition, writing process and research. This part of the exam makes up 15% of the total content.
