ORELA Business Education: Controlling Functions of Management- Chapter Objectives

The Controlling Functions of Management chapter is designed to help you reinforce what you know or learn new information about theories and principles relating to management functions. Questions about these topics are found in the first domain of the ORELA Business Education exam, which measures your understanding of various aspects of business including management, accounting, finance and marketing. The first domain represents 19% of the total exam, which is computer-based and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions.

Oregon utilizes ORELA exams to determine the instructional capabilities and content knowledge of new teachers pursuing licensure in the field. Tests are given at the K-12 levels depending on the subject. Some exams cover general concepts in math, science, English and social studies; others address specific content areas such as art, music, history and physical education. Passing scores range from 220-240; a score of 234 is required to pass the Business Education exam.
