Physics Concepts - Chapter Summary
If you would like to learn some of the most important concepts in the field of physics, you can watch each of the video lessons found in this chapter. Included in these lessons are overviews and explanations of major scientific laws, concepts and phenomena relevant to physics as a whole.

3. First Law of Thermodynamics: Law of Conservation of Energy
This video describes the first law of thermodynamics. Several examples of the application of this law are discussed. The significance of the law and its practical application are discussed as well.
4. What is Electric Current? - Definition, Unit & Types
Like a river current is the flow of water molecules, electrical current is the flow of charged particles. In this lesson, we're going to explore what electrical current is, what causes it, and that, unlike a water current, electrical current doesn't always flow in one direction.
5. Electric Charge and Force: Definition, Repulsion & Attraction
Have you ever wondered what electricity is and where it comes from? Have you ever been zapped by static electricity and wondered how it got there? We'll answer all of these questions in this lesson on electric charge and force!
6. Voltage Sources: Energy Conversion and Examples
We use them every day, but no one really gives them much thought. What are we talking about? Why, voltage sources, of course! Batteries and generators are two of the most common sources of voltage that power our daily lives. We'll look at them in detail to see how they work.
7. Electrical Resistance: Definition, Unit & Variables
We'll take a shopping trip to the mall to learn how electrical resistance works and how it is affected by resistivity, conductor dimensions, and temperature. We'll also take a look at several common appliances that take advantage of resistance to function.
8. Ohm's Law: Definition & Relationship Between Voltage, Current & Resistance
Did you know that electrical current is affected by the voltage and resistance in a circuit? In this lesson, we'll use Ohm's law, which tells us how current, voltage, and resistance are related, as we work through several electric circuit examples.
9. Newton's Law of Gravitation: Definition & Examples
This lesson explains how gravity works mathematically and teaches you how to use Newton's Law of Gravitation to solve problems. A short quiz will follow.
10. Newton's First Law of Motion: Examples of the Effect of Force on Motion
This lesson describes Newton's first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia. The interaction between force and motion is explained. Several examples are used to discuss the implications of this law on earth and in space.
11. Newton's Second Law of Motion: The Relationship Between Force and Acceleration
This lesson defines Newton's second law of motion. Examples are used to illustrate how unbalanced forces cause objects to accelerate. The examples are used to practice calculating acceleration and force for objects in motion.
12. Newton's Third Law of Motion: Examples of the Relationship Between Two Forces
This lesson describes Newton's third law of motion. Examples are provided to illustrate how interacting objects experience forces. The lesson explains how objects accelerate as a result of force. Applications of Newton's third law are illustrated in nature, machines, and space.
13. Motion: Linear, Simple Harmonic, Circular & Projectile
While you may be able to define 'motion' as it relates to science, do you know how simple harmonic, circular, linear and projectile motion differ from one another? Continue reading to find out more about these different types of motion, and then see if you can answer the questions on the follow-up quiz.
14. Differences Between Translational & Rotational Motion
After watching this lesson, you'll be able to explain the difference between translational and rotational motion, explain how translational quantities are replaced by rotational ones in physics and apply Newton's First Law to rotation. A short quiz follows.
