The lessons in this chapter can teach you the properties of a matrix and how to Scalar multiply, multiply, add and subtract matrices and vectors. ### Objectives of the Praxis Mathematics: Matrices Course

In many states, you must pass the Praxis Mathematics test in order to become certified to teach math at the secondary school level. The Praxis Mathematics test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and has a 2-hour time limit. The lessons included in the Matrices chapter are part of the test's Matrix Algebra section. This section consists of four or five questions and makes up eight to ten percent of the test as a whole.

Each question presents a problem and offers you four possible answers from which to choose. You can familiarize yourself with the test's format and gauge your knowledge of the subject by utilizing the self-assessment quizzes that accompany each video lesson.
