### Praxis Mathematics: Objectives

The Praxis Math exam determines your readiness to be licensed as a secondary-school math teacher. The exam looks at your abilities in mathematical problem solving, reasoning, and related areas that demonstrate your knowledge of fundamental mathematical concepts and ability to teach these concepts to students.

The math exam includes 50 questions, all multiple choice. Quadratic equations and functions are likely to come up on the functions portion of the test, which makes up about eight questions, or 16%, of the exam. Quadratic functions may also come up in the data analysis and statistics portion, which makes up 5-6 questions, or about 10-12%, of the exam.

After every video lesson, you can take a self-assessment quiz. As you complete each lesson, use the quiz to see how well you remember the material you just reviewed. These quizzes allow you to gain experience with the kind of multiple-choice questions you find on the Praxis exam.
