SAT Math: Triangles and Trigonometric Ratios - Chapter Summary

SAT Math: Triangles and Trigonometric Ratios Chapter Objectives
The Additional Topics in Math section of the examination includes questions related to the topics that are covered in this chapter. The overall math section of the paper-delivered SAT examination includes 58 questions that must be answered in 80 minutes. There are 45 standard multiple-choice questions and 13 student-produced response questions. When addressing the latter questions, you'll write your answers on a special grid.

Not all right triangles are the same. In this lesson, we'll look at two special right triangles (30-60-90 and 45-45-90) that have unique properties to help you quickly and easily solve certain triangle problems.
5. Trigonometry: Sine and Cosine
Learn an easy trick to help you solve trigonometry problems, including problems with sine, cosine and inverse trig functions. At the end of this lesson, you'll know what SohCahToa means and how to use it.
6. Trigonometric Ratios and Similarity
Where do terms like sine, cosine and tangent come from? In this lesson, we'll learn about how similarity with right triangles leads to trigonometric ratios.
7. The Pythagorean Theorem: Practice and Application
The Pythagorean theorem is one of the most famous geometric theorems. Written by the Greek mathematician Pythagoras, this theorem makes it possible to find a missing side length of a right triangle. Learn more about the famous theorem here and test your understanding with a quiz.
8. Finding Distance with the Pythagorean Theorem
