Today we're going to explore mathematical sets, which are surprisingly simple! Sets are just collections of any objects or concepts, also known as elements, that can be related to each other through union or intersection.
2. Set Notation: Definition & Examples
After completing this lesson, you will know how to write a set using words and using mathematical symbols. You will also know how to define sets and how to interpret sets that are displayed in set notation.
3. Subsets in Math: Definition & Examples
After completing this lesson, you should be able to define the concept of subsets in math. You should also be ready to write subsets using proper set notation. Finally, you should be able to identify sets that are subsets of other sets.
4. Cardinality & Types of Subsets (Infinite, Finite, Equal, Empty)
In this video, we will add to our knowledge of sets. We will talk about cardinality, infinite, finite, equal and the empty set. I think you will find these very straightforward, so let's begin.
5. Representing Subsets of Real Numbers Symbolically
In this lesson, we will organize real numbers into subsets and show how this idea relates five types of numbers. Using various representations, we will learn how to conceptualize the subsets of real numbers.
