Ch 18: TASC Math: Rational Expressions

Rational expressions become easier to work with after reviewing this chapter's effective lessons. Learn about solving equations of direct variation and more to help you prepare for the TASC Math test.

TASC Math: Rational Expressions - Chapter Summary

The TASC Math test includes problems that require familiarity with rational expressions. View the short video lessons and transcripts in this chapter to learn more about the following:

• Multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting rational expressions
• Solving rational equations
• Working with reciprocals of rational expressions
• Simplifying complex expressions
• Solving direct and inverse variation equations

The examples that our professional instructors include in the lessons are clear and easy and can help you process how to solve the same kinds of problems. Test your grasp of these topics before exam day with the chapter's self-assessment quizzes.

Objectives of the TASC Math: Rational Expressions Chapter

The TASC Math test is largely concerned with mathematical reasoning abilities, and it measures your understanding through different kinds of questions, including multiple-choice, gridded-response and constructed-response types. You have the option of taking the exam in either paper-based or computer-based formats.

The practice quizzes in this chapter have multiple-choice questions that give you a realistic preview of how some of your test questions could be. The TASC Math exam has five different content areas, and the topics in this chapter may be found within the algebra section. The algebra content area makes up 26% of the test.
