WEST Middle Level Humanities: History of the Americas Objectives

The state of Washington uses the Washington Educator Skills Test-Endorsements (WEST-E) Middle-Level Humanities exam to evaluate the knowledge of prospective middle grades social studies and language arts teachers. The exam is made up of two computerized tests. You can either take two subtests within a 2.5-hour block of time or take each subtest separately in two 1.25 hour testing sessions. The U.S. and World History domain of subtest two is worth 33% of the exam. This chapter will help you prepare for possible questions about the Mesoamerican cultures in this domain.
