Centenary College

Located in Hackettstown, this college offers a theater arts bachelor's degree with a concentration in performance studies. Students will learn about acting and theater principles, and they will be able to participate in main stage and children's theater productions. Aspiring performers will be able to work with professionals and industry actors. The college also provides 3 performance spaces for students.

Fairleigh Dickinson University - College at Florham

This university is found in Madison, and it also has a theater arts undergrad degree with an acting concentration. Applicants need to audition to enter the theater program. The university provides scholarships for the most promising theater candidates. Acting students will complete advanced acting coursework and seminars. Students can also participate in a drama club, 4 annual main stage productions, internships, showcases and a study abroad program in England.

Kean University

Located in Union, this university offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theatre Performance within its accredited theater department. Performing students must audition at least 4 times, in order to continue in the program. These students are also required to audition for every main stage production offered by the department. The curriculum includes theater foundation and theater performance coursework. Students must take an acting capstone course.

Montclair State University

The State University in Montclair offers an accredited bachelor's degree with a concentration in acting. The program provides conservatory training in improvisation, speech, classical work, script analysis and performance. Senior students will perform in a New York showcase in front of an audience of agents and directors. The university also hosts a wide variety of acting opportunities like main stage productions, plays, workshops, readings, lab exercises and touring productions. Many acting majors have worked in international programs and participated in national competitions.

Ramapo College of New Jersey

Located in Mahwah, this college has an undergraduate program with a specialization in acting. The college hosts four annual productions, theater student projects, workshops and several performance spaces. Students will study advanced acting topics like auditing, voice/movement and comedy. They also must complete capstone experiences like a theater project or an internship.

Rowan University

This university is in Glassboro, and it offers a theater bachelor's degree with an acting concentration. The accredited theater department provides main stage productions, plays and theater clubs for the benefit of students. Students will study a variety of acting topics, and they will also complete practicum productions and colloquiums.

Rutgers University - Camden

Rutgers University in Camden has a general theater undergraduate degree, but students will be able to take several acting electives in the program. Courses include acting, film acting, improvisational theater, stage movement and stage voice. Theater students must also complete a performance workshop, practicum experience and a senior project.

Rutgers University - New Brunswick

Located in New Brunswick, this university offers a bachelor's and master's degree in acting. Both undergraduate and graduate students will perform in productions and a New York presentation for career preparation. All students are required to undertake a study abroad program in England for classical and international training.

Rutgers University - Newark

This Newark university has a theater undergraduate degree program with a specialization in performance. Students will take theater history, acting and theater movement. Performance students will also study advanced topics in acting and theater voice/speech.

Seton Hall University

Found in South Orange, this university has a bachelor's degree in theater.
