Job Outlook and Salary Information

Many graduates of an integrative health studies degree program often work in retail as promoters and demonstrators of aromatherapy products. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (, the employment of demonstrators and product promoters is expected to increase by 9% for the period 2014 to 2024. The mean annual salary of demonstrators and promoters, also reported by the BLS, was $29,720 in 2015.

Continuing Education Information

There is no centralized governing body that offers certification to those graduates of an integrative health studies program who wish to be practicing aromatherapists. The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists (NAHA) is a non-profit organization that is making steps towards standardizing educational curriculums and certification, but it is still in its beginning stages as a non-profit.

Students interested in aromatherapy will find few master's programs in the field, but they can also look into bachelor's programs in integrative health that include aromatherapy in the curriculum.
