University of Massachusetts Amherst

Worried about how your children will be taken care of when you're at class? With this school, there is no need to be concerned. It offers a wide selection of babysitting services, both on and off campus. UMass Amherst also offers financial aid for mothers and programs that children and mothers can participate in together.

St. Paul's College - Lawrenceville, VA

Being a single mom in college is tough, but St. Paul's makes it easier. It has a program called Single Parent Support System (SPSS) that involves a mentoring system to help single mothers with the trials they will face. Childcare and tutorial services are also offered. But be sharp, because this college asks you attend full-time and maintain a 2.5 GPA to get the benefits.

University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Are you pregnant but still want to go to college? University of Minnesota can help. It has a Child Development Center for new mothers or mothers-to-be. You can submit medical proof that you're pregnant, and then when you do have a baby, you can receive childcare as well as training on how to care for your new child. If you already have a baby, the university may still offer you care. But you will need to submit an application as soon as you can, since there is a waiting list for this program.

Mills College - Oakland, CA

At Mills, you don't have to worry about where you're going to live. Special apartments with two bedrooms are set aside for families and students with children, and they are only a 5-minute walk from campus. The family-friendly amenities include a children's play yard, a private entrance, and reserved parking spaces. You can also hire other students as babysitters and bring your child with you to meals on campus.

University of Iowa - Iowa City, IA

This university has a ton of options for students and employees who are parents. There are childcare programs ranging from occasional to regular babysitting. You can set up flexible classes online or offline or work options that fit into your hectic schedule. Financial support and on-campus lactation rooms are available to students with babies.

St. Catherine University - St. Paul, MN

The Access and Success program is one that touches on a lot of areas of concern for students. You will receive mentoring, flexible schedules, childcare, housing assistance, loaned laptops, emergency financial aid and much more. The school also has on-campus lactation rooms and child-friendly study areas. Mothers can even attend regular meetings with other student mothers to learn from their experiences, and they can pursue leadership opportunities to help fellow mothers succeed.

Wilson College - Chambersburg, PA

If your child is between the ages of 20 months and five years old and you wish to pursue your bachelor's degree full time, then Wilson's Women with Children program is for you. You will receive on-campus housing, and you can participate in activities that involve both you and your child, such as field trips and dance classes. There are also equestrian facilities for mothers and children, a playground and mentoring programs.

Endicott College - Beverly, MA

Endicott College's Keys to Degrees program for single parents is for both men and women between the ages of 18-24. There are shared laundry and cooking facilities with on-campus housing available for the full year for students with children. The program helps students in applying for financial aid and child care assistance programs, and the program director also assists in finding educationally enriching programs for the children that work with mom or dad's class schedule.

Eastern Michigan University - Ypsilanti, MI

The Keys to Degrees program is also offered at Eastern Michigan University, where participants help each other in a babysitting cooperative, as well as providing each other with moral and academic support. Additionally, there is on-campus housing for families and financial assistance for tuition and child care.

Ferris State University - Big Rapids, MI

Ferris State University has received grant funding from Endicott College's Keys to Degrees program as well as the Kellogg Foundation's Single Parent Initiative to implement its own Keys to Degrees program patterned after its predecessors. Eligible students are able to participate in museum tours, workshops, conferences, and other fun activities, such as swimming lessons and bowling. They also receive financial assistance and other support services.

Champlain College - Burlington, VT

Champlain College's Single Parent Program offers specialized assistance to single parents to help them achieve their goal of a college education. Services include financial assistance for undergraduates, a 'Save the Day' Fund to assist with emergency needs, free counseling, tutoring and career advising. Additionally, participants receive referrals to a wide variety of employment assistance services, like writing resumes and finding a job.

Misericordia University - Dallas, PA

Misericordia's Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children program helps student mothers of children ages 2-8 in a number of ways. You can receive financial aid, childcare and special housing. You can also get individual counseling and emergency support if things start becoming too stressful. The university maintains lists of on- and off-campus resources available for all student mothers.

Brigham Young University - Provo, UT

The Non-Traditional Student program assists a variety of non-traditional students, including single parents. The program offers campus and community resources and a limited number of on-campus apartments for single parents and their children.

Baldwin Wallace University - Berea, OH

The Single Parents Reaching Out for Unlimited Tomorrows (SPROUT) program is a comprehensive approach to assisting single mother students ages 18-23. Program features include, but aren't limited to, year-round on-campus housing, assistance in acquiring funding for child care, counseling, mentoring and internship experiences, tutoring and academic support, and specialized financial aid options.

Texas Women's University - Denton, TX

Texas Women's University's Student Parents Also Raising Kids (SPARK) program assists moms in learning about all the financial, academic and social supports available to help them achieve their higher education goals. Requirements include being enrolled in at least 6 hours at Texas Women's University, a minimum 2.0 GPA, a program application and approval by majority vote of the current Non-Traditional Student Organization members.

University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire

Through the Non-Traditional Student Services program, the university offers numerous single parent scholarships, ranging from $500-$2000. Some of these scholarships can be awarded for multiple years.
