Anesthesiologist technicians are primarily responsible for providing assistance before surgeries, including transporting patients to trauma facilities, calibrating and testing equipment, and ensuring a sterile surgical environment.

These hands-on programs provide students with step-by-step technical instruction within an actual surgical suite. Students also learn about patient interaction skills and medical terminology and procedures. They gain an educational background in basic human anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology. Certification is voluntary and requires work experience and the passing of an examination.

To gain certification, individuals must have two years of work experience in the vocation, a high school diploma and a strong command of the English language. They must also pay a small fee and pass an examination.
