The BLS projected job growth of 20%, much faster than the average for all occupations, from 2018-2028 for market research analysts. As of May 2018, the BLS reported, market research analysts and marketing specialists earned a median annual salary of $63,120.

According to the BLS, a bachelor's or master's degree in marketing may be required for marketing positions. Many schools offer online bachelor's degree and graduate marketing degree programs. While not required to work in this field, the Professional Certified Marketer designation is offered through the American Marketing Association. Earning this designation will help marketing professionals network with local businesses and strengthen their overall skills.
