Students looking for an Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) in Marketing programs will find that this is not a common option, but students may enroll in an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Marketing program.

Essential Information

AAS in Marketing programs provide students with an introduction to professional selling and strategic marketing. Students may also study price setting, product promotion, manufacturing and distribution. Specialization options include e-commerce, retail merchandising and management. Prior to graduation from one of these two-year programs, students may be required to complete an internship and/or a capstone project. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.

Associate's Degree in Occupational Studies

In these programs, students gain insight into the marketing process, emerging marketing methods and customer relationship management. Courses in a program in marketing may include:

Beyond the associate degree level, students can study marketing through bachelor's degree programs, such as Bachelor of Science in Marketing programs or Bachelor of Business Administration programs with a marketing emphasis. These programs could prepare marketing professionals for marketing and sales management or administration positions.

Even though it is not possible to earn an AOS in Marketing, an AAS in the field provides sufficient background for students to enter the workforce or continue their business education at the bachelor's degree level.
