Graduates of the legal executive assistant program may seek immediate employment or may pursue bachelor's degree programs to become paralegals. Participants may also train to become paralegals once they've obtained work experience in the legal field.
Additionally, certification in the field demonstrates proficiency and knowledge in the profession. The NALS offers the Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS) and the Professional Legal Secretary (PLS) certification. Legal Secretaries International, Inc. also offers the Certified Legal Secretary Specialist (CLSS) credential for individuals who have completed a training program and have at least five years of experience working in the legal field.
