Amherst College in Amherst, MA

Amherst College is a small school located in western Massachusetts that was ranked the second best national liberal arts college in 2017 by U.S. News & World Report.. The college's Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience program blends courses in chemistry, biology, physics, psychology, math, and computer science. Topics include hormones and behavior, psychopharmacology, genome biology, and immunology. Students in the program may participate in the senior honors program and assist with faculty research projects at the nearby University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Undergraduate neuroscience students at Amherst College are eligible for numerous summer research programs, such as the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience research internship.

Columbia University in New York, NY

Columbia University tied for 2017's fifth best national university by U.S. News & World Report. The school's Department of Psychology and the Department of Biological Sciences offer a combined major program in neuroscience and behavior. Professional courses for this program include classes in neurobiology, biochemistry, and human behavior. Brown University in Providence, RI
