Essential Information

Earning a Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) certification demonstrates to employers that you have achieved a certain level of knowledge and skills in an area of computing. CompTIA certification exam preparation programs are available at community colleges, technical schools, and some colleges and universities, lasting between one and four non-credit courses. According to CompTIA, some of the many certification options include CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ComTIA Server+, CompTIA CTT+, CompTIA Linux+, ComTIA Convergence+, and CompTIA Project+.


A+ Certification Program

One of the most common CompTIA certification programs available is for the A+ certification. In this program, individuals must understand the basic installation and maintenance of laptops, desktops and other devices. There are two exams required to earn this certification.
