According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS, www.bls.gov), the employment growth rate of varying types of electronics workers, from 2014-2024, are as follows: electrical and electronics installers and repairers, -4%; electrical and electronic engineering technicians, -2%; and telecommunications equipment installers and repairers, -4%. Correspondingly, the BLS reported in May 2015 median annual salaries for the same fields: electrical and electronics repairers, $55,160; electrical and electronics engineering technicians, $61,130; and telecommunications equipment installers and repairers, except line installers, $54,570.

Continuing Education Information

Graduates of the diploma program may seek employment immediately or may choose to further their education. They may wish to pursue associate or bachelor degree programs in electronics technology, computer and electronics engineering, or engineering technology to become technologists, engineering technicians, or engineers. With work experience and professional certifications, technicians may also advance to supervisory positions.
