Online Test Prep Options for the GED Test

The General Educational Development, or GED high school equivalency test must be taken in person at an official testing center. While the GED test itself is not available online, there are variety of GED test prep materials available on the Internet.

Requirements for GED

Before you take the GED, it is important that you check your state's eligibility requirements. GED Testing Service stipulates that all candidates be at least 16. They must also be withdrawn from high school. Each state sets its own eligibility requirements within these guidelines.

However, the GED test is a standardized exam. The exam is seven and a half hours with four separate sections on language arts, math, science and social studies. To obtain the GED certificate, you are required to achieve a minimum score of 145 in each section for a combined score of 580. If you are planning on attending college, then you must attain a minimum of 165 on each part of the test.
