Pima Community College

Serving about 70,000 students throughout its campuses each year, Pima Community College is a large public institution serving Tucson and the surrounding area. The school is comprised of six different campuses spread around Tucson, as well as continuing education centers. It offers about 195 associate's degree, certificate, and workforce training diploma programs.

Pima's Digital Arts Certificate program can prepared students for entry-level work as graphic illustrators, Web designers, graphic designers or multimedia artists. Courses cover topics such as computer graphics, color rendering, typography and desktop publishing. The Associate of Applied Science in Digital Arts has many of the same core courses as the digital arts certificate program, but also includes additional electives, general education courses and required digital arts illustration studio sessions.

The Digital Arts Post-Degree Certificate program focuses entirely on advanced techniques and topics related to graphic art and design. It is meant for professionals who already have some background in the field looking to increase their skills. Courses cover advanced photo image editing, advanced desktop graphics and digital multimedia design. Students must also complete a digital arts studio session and a capstone portfolio course.
