Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) had an enrollment of more than 30,000 students in 2013. IUPUI has nearly 20 schools and colleges with around 2,500 faculty members. The university has a student-to-faculty ratio of 18 to 1.

IUPUI offers a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design. Some BFA major courses include designer production and typography in addition to an internship and capstone portfolio. The MFA is a full-time program that has a time limit of 3 years to finish.
