Greenwood Village, Colorado, is located in Arapahoe County, immediately to the south of the state capital of Denver. It had a population of 15,385, based on 2014 U.S. Census Bureau estimates. The median household income for Greenwood Village residents was $109,180 for 2010-2014, which was significantly higher than the median of $59,448 for all Colorado residents.
Greenwood Village features several equestrian trails and parks, as well as numerous natural parks and open spaces. However, there are numerous colleges and universities within a 20-mile radius of the city, including the private University of Denver, the University of Colorado's Denver campus, Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Community College of Aurora.
Economy and Employment in Greenwood Village
Greenwood Village is a relatively small suburb, but it holds its own economically. Part of a specialty office park called the Denver Technological Center (DTC) lies within Greenwood Village limits. Founded in 1962, the center hosts offices of hundreds of businesses. Some well-known employers include Great-West Life, Kraft, JP Morgan and Sprint.
